YES! DiBi currently supplies over 650 European rowing clubs and we would love to see your club as part of our ever-expanding group of customers. Just send us an email at clubkit@dibisport.co.uk and a member of our experienced team will answer all your questions!
We will be happy to supply samples for sizing or colour match purposes. We charge a deposit for each sample which is refundable upon return.
In addition to this, if you are a new customer, before you place and order we’ll manufacture a free sample to ensure satisfaction with the quality and the colours.
All DiBi products have been developed to provide optimal fit and comfort while rowing.
A UNISEX fit is not just another way to say MEN’s fit. Over the years we have developed all our garments to ensure maximum comfort during exercise for both active men and women. Generally, a unisex size is one size larger than the normal ladies’ size.
We can add highly reflective panels to most of our club kit products. These will increase your visibility whilst on the water but especially whilst running or cycling to the boathouse!
In a raglan sleeve the piece of fabric making up the sleeve doesn't end at the shoulder, but goes all the way up to the collar or neckline. The sleeve is fitted to the rest of the garment with a diagonal seam that goes from the underarm straight to the neckline.
Raglan sleeves allow a more natural range of movement and are very comfortable, making them ideal for sportswear.

For additional info on some of our performance fabrics, please visit the Performance Fabrics page.
We have a wide range of stock colours for all our fabrics and additional colours can be sourced from our suppliers.
Customised colours are also available although only for high quantity orders. In addition to this, if you require a specific colour, which is not the primary colour of your kit, we can match any colour using dye sublimation printing. All we need is the pantone code of the colour that you require.
No minimum order number applies to the use of dye sublimation. If you require additional information please contact us.
A : Our designers will do all they can to achieve a perfect match but your help can make this process much faster and accurate. The best thing is usually for you to send a sample of your current kit (please make sure that the product is not too old and / or that the colours have faded). Alternatively please provide us with the Pantone value for your colours.
A common problem in reproducing colour graphics is that what you see on the screen is not what you get when you print. This is usually caused by the limitations of monitors and other output devices.
This is why for new clubs we provide printed colour samples to make sure that you are happy with the colours of your club kit.
The Pantone Matching System (PMS) is a popular colour matching system used by the printing industry. Keep in mind that this system is based on inks printed on paper, so at our end we will be matching the PMS values to fibers and threads and silkscreen inks.
If there is any uncertainty about the match we will send you a sample.
Synthetic fabrics hold their colour much better than natural fabrics such as cotton. What's most important is to properly care for your kit. Using your washing machine's permanent press/delicate cycle with cold water and a gentle detergent will keep all your kit looking brighter and make it last longer.
We can print on SUPPLEX, COOLMAX, THERMOLITE, LYCRA, WINDTEX and MICROFIBER which means that we can print on all technical garments, from the all-in-one to the splash top!
Please note that cotton, cotton/lycra and other natural fibers cannot be printed using dye sublimation as the high temperature at which the dye is applied would damage this fabrics.
THERMOLITE is great for dye sublimation printing. This means that any design and / or shade of colour can be printed on it. We advise against the use of heat transfer printing when it comes to THERMOLITE as due to the features of the fabric these prints are less durable than on other fabrics (e.g SUPPLEX).
One of the key challenges in dressing for cold weather activities is keeping warm while staying dry. Many traditional insulating fabrics are not breathable, trapping moisture against your skin. Trapped moisture is uncomfortable at best, and often results in you feeling colder than if you were wearing less clothing!
To overcome this problem, we have created our ROWARM™ range which uses THERMOLITE®; a lightweight performance fabric developed for cold-weather training. Similar to the insulating fur of polar bears, Thermolite® is based on hollow fiber technology that traps warm air inside the fibers. Fabrics made with these advanced fibers have enhanced insulation properties and retain features including lightness, air permeability, flexibility and comfort.
ROWARM™ is the ideal solution for athletes who need maximum warmth and protection in base layer apparel for extreme conditions.
Breathable fabrics let air in and sweat out. Breathable waterproof fabrics have tiny pores in the fabric, larger than water vapour molecules (so these can get out) but much smaller than drops of rain (so these can't get in).
Wicking fabrics are modern technical fabrics which draw moisture away from the body. They are made of high-tech polyester, which, unlike cotton, absorbs very little water. Cotton will absorb 7% of its weight in water, polyester only 0.4%. Cotton will therefore hang onto your sweat, making your garment heavy and unpleasantly clammy. Wicking fabrics have a special cross-section and a large surface area, which picks up moisture and carries it away from your body, spreading it out, to evaporate easily on the outside of the fabric. So you stay cool and dry.
Windproof fabrics do not let the wind through. They are very useful for keeping your warm. Fabrics are made windproof by weaving them very tightly, so that the gaps between the threads are too small for air to pass through at speed. For gilets and tech tops we use WINDTEX, a light stretch heat regulating membrane which repels wind and water and maintains unaltered the microclimate between the skin and the fabric.
All DiBi garments are made using high quality materials under strict quality control conditions.
The way in which garments are washed plays a major role in their durability. If you take care of your products while washing them, you’ll be able to enjoy bright colours and top quality compression for many seasons. All our fabrics have been treated for colour fastness but small colour “bleeds” can occur.
To minimize this risk, follow these instructions:
Dip your product in a washbasin containing cold water and a small amount of detergent.
Do not leave your product in the water to soak; rinse it immediately in fresh running tap water until the water runs clear.
Remove excess water and repeat the two steps above
In printing, this means that dye is transferred onto the fabric by heating. The heating process causes the special dye chemicals to vaporise; they then solidify again on the fabric, bonding with the polyester molecules. This is a very accurate printing process, particularly known for its faithful colour reproduction.
The chosen design is printed from a computer onto special transfer paper. The print out is then transferred onto the garment by sublimation. In dye sublimation prints, the dye bonds to the fabric and it stretches with it.
Thanks to this, these prints don’t peel, crack or fade like old-style prints.
We can print on SUPPLEX, COOLMAX, THERMOLITE, LYCRA, WINDTEX and MICROFIBER which means that we can print on all technical garments, from the all-in-one to the splash top!
Please note that cotton, cotton/lycra and other natural fibers cannot be printed using the dye sublimation as the high temperature at which the dye is applied would damage this fabrics.
Silkscreen prints will prevent the printed area from stretching so beware that large areas of total ink coverage will reduce the amount of stretch of the garment.
In dye sublimation prints, the dye bonds to the fabric and it stretches with it. Thanks to this, sublimation doesn't restrict the stretch or affect the feel of the material it is applied to.
Cracking occurs when light inks like white, khaki or gold are printed on dark fabrics. This is because for designs to be vibrant on dark fabrics, the layer of ink needs to be much thicker than on light colored fabrics. Despite this, the main factor affecting prints is the way in which products are washed.
If properly washed, prints will last for years. Using your washing machine's permanent press/delicate cycle with cold water and a gentle detergent made for dark fabrics will help all your dark fabrics stay dark and help slow the cracking process.
Because it's impossible to control how people wash their clothes, cracking of light inks on dark fabrics should be expected.
Website logos are created specifically for the web. Their size and resolution is often too low to enable accurate conversion into a format suitable for printing. For us to either digitize art for embroidery, or to create the art for silkscreen, we need an image that is crisp at a workable size.
Please contact us if you require additional info on the best format/resolution for your artwork.
DiBi will turn your image into a vector design for free!
Our Graphic Service will convert your pixel image (file types .jpg, .gif, .png, .bmp) into a vector image. These can then be used for the creation of a .DST embroidery file or for dye sublimation printing.
Just send us your pixel image. This service is only available to DiBi customers.
The best way to find out is to print your artwork from your printer at the size you want to print on the kit. If the print looks blurry, chunky or dirty, it won’t look any better on the kit!
To make sure that you send us artwork of suitable quality, either send us a vector-based version of your artwork (Illustrator, CorelDraw) or make sure that your artwork has a resolution of at least 300dpi.
If you are using a raster-based program such as Adobe® Photoshop®, start the process by working with a resolution of 300 dpi. In some programs the resolution may be referred to as ppi (pixels per inch); for our purposes this is the same as dpi.
A common mistake is to use 72 dpi, which is perfect for on-screen viewing, but will produce poor print results. It’s also important for the graphic to be the size you intend to print on the garment. For instance, if you want your graphic to print 10cm x 11cm, make it 10cm x 11cm at 300 dpi. If you start with dimensions smaller than you intend the final print to be, you are essentially decreasing the resolution of the image when you enlarge it.
Another cause of poor quality graphics is using too much compression when saving your jpeg. Although compression is beneficial because it makes the file size smaller, using too much compression will leave unintended distortions and “artifacts” in your design that will translate to the print on the kit. A good alternative to the jpeg format is the png format. Not only is it a “lossless” file type (therefore leaving you with no compression artifacts) but it also maintains transparency in the image. This is helpful when you want the garment color to show through particular areas of your design.
If you require additional information or you would like to discuss your artwork, please contact us.
Examples of vectored files would be Illustrator, CorelDraw or Freehand files that DO NOT contain scans. All these files will ensure high quality prints and reduce the processing time enabling us to quickly start production. CorelDraw is preferred.
The main factor is size, the larger the size of the embroidery, the higher the stitch count and thus the higher the price. The same applies to the creation of the .DST embroidery file. The number of colours used does not affect the cost of the embroidery.
Charges apply for all embroideries applied to garments. Please note that for logos and crests you will have to provide us with a .DST embroidery file / Jacquard to avoid setup charges. If you don’t have a .DST file for your logo/crest, our embroiderer will be able to create one for you.
The origination of the DST / Jacquard is simply charged at a rate per thousand stitches, so the number of colours you use or the complexity of the design are irrelevant to the cost. We store all jacquards so if you wish to use the same design and size on a subsequent order there will be no further setup costs.
Please note that no setup charge applies to name embroidery.
Removing the thread can be a very tedious experience as there is a lot of threading to remove. You will need to be very careful to prevent ruining the kit. The tightness of the sew often leaves an imprint in the fabric for a few washes until the garment stretches back out.
DiBi can do this for you although charges will apply. Please contact us if you would like to discuss this.
Our designers and our embroiderers will be happy to help you change / modify your current embroidery. Please note that only minor changes can be applied without having to create a new .DST file. Charges apply to the creation of a new .DST embroidery file. Changes in the size of an embroidery almost always require the creation of a new .DST file.
To embroider your logo/crest we must first digitise your design in order to produce a jacquard / DST file which is essentially a digital template for the machine to follow.
Minor changes can be applied to an existing jacquard. For example we could apply a regatta date / name to the logo. A small charge applies for this service.
Please note that only minor changes can be applied. Major changes will require the creation of a new jacquard and a new setup charge will apply. All changes are evaluated on a case by case basis.
Embroidered text, like logos can affect the stretch of the fabric. The whole area covered by the text will be non-stretchable. We recommend a limit of 5 characters on a collar and 7 characters down a sleeve to maximize comfort.
Large embroideries can definitely have a significant effect on the fit of a stretch garment (e.g. All-in-one). We embroider logos and crests onto the kit using a non-woven backing to give stability and improve the quality of the embroidery. There is absolutely no give or stretch in any direction of an embroidered logo. With large logos this can cause problems. Standard crests don’t cause problems and logos up to 10-15 cm are usually ok. Larger logos can be applied onto garments produced using non-stretch fabrics (e.g. Splash Tops).
Only very large embroideries will have a significant effect on the fit of a garment. Only garments manufactured using stretch fabrics are affected (e.g. All-in-one). Standard crests don’t cause problems and logos up to 10 cm (4") are usually ok.
We manufacture high quality boat / rigger and oar covers which provide total protection to all your rowing equipment and minimize wear and tear caused by transportation and storage.
BoatSkins™ are already the covers of choice for a number of major European boat builders. We can produce branded covers and discounts are available on bulk orders.
All our boat covers are manufactured using CORDURA, we advise against the use of standard NYLON as it doesn't provide sufficient protection.
CORDURA® is the “Tough Stuff”, it is a high-performance, super-durable fabric designed and developed by INVISTA®. CORDURA® resists tears and abrasions like no other fabric of its kind.
Although extremely strong and durable, CORDURA® is a lightweight fabric. Products made with CORDURA® are made to last and are also very easy to care for.
Cordura® is :
10x more durable than cotton duck
3x more durable than standard polyester
2x more durable than standard nylon
All our covers are also manufactured using double stitching for increased durability.
As rowers ourselves, we understand that covers should be easy to fit and for this reason we’ve worked hard to make sure that BoatSkins™ are very easy to fit.
The covers are not lined as CORDURA has been shown to provide enough protection. This also ensures that the covers are not bulky and easy to transport.
